According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), more than 220 million tones of food are being wasted every year by rich countries all over the world. North Americans and Europeans alone, waste between 95 and 115 kg of food every 12 months, per person. The amount of food thrown away is simply gigantic, considering there are parts of the world where people simply have nothing to eat.

Besides being more careful of how you manage your food, there are more ways you can help provide food for those who badly need it. Here’s what you can do to help:

FreeRice.com
Freerice is a non-profit website that is owned by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme.  Freerice.com aims to provide free education to everyone while helping end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free. All you need to do is play games in order to donate the much needed food.

The Hunger Site

With the aid of  The Hunger Site, you can provide food by a click of a button. It’s as simple as that and it only takes one second of your time. Remember to click daily, it’s a monthly effort of just 30 seconds…

Do you know of other ways to help end hunger? If so, let us know in the comments below.
